Society members in Wales may wish to consider applying for an HCC scholarship to undertake a red meat-related study tour of their choice.
The scheme is open to people from across the Welsh red meat supply chain, including farmers, processors, retailers and those working in areas such as sustainability, economics, marketing and communications.
This year’s scholarship, which provides £5000 of funding, has been widened to reflect priorities set out in HCC’s Red Meat Industry Vision.
Applicants must show how their proposed study programme supports at least one of three key aims: increasing the volume and value of Welsh red meat sales, improving economic and environmental sustainability, or strengthening evidence-based advocacy for the sector.

Texel Sheep Society chief executive John Yates said the scholarship represented a great opportunity for Welsh members, particularly younger members, including those who participate in Society YDP events, to explore aspects of the red meat supply chain both at home and abroad and deliver change for the Welsh red meat sector.
