This week’s Summer Sensations online sale of Texel females peaked at £6000 for a Teiglum gimmer from Clark Farms, Lanarkshire.
Sale topping CFT1906405 is a daughter of Knock Bantastic, sire of last year’s Lanark topper, Midlock Capaldi, and out of a dam by Mossvale Winston. She sold with an index in the top 25% of the breed and is from the same family as both Teiglum Tornado and Teiglum Younggun. She was bought by Nick Legge, Leominster.
Next best at £3000 was CKC1910924 from the Campbell family’s Cowal flock. This one is by Auldhouseburn Boss and out of a dam by Claybury Yosemite which stood second at Great Yorkshire in 2018. Buying this one was Leigh Smith and Joanne Huddart for the Majestic flock, Cumbria.
Then taking a £2950 bid was CFT1906362, another from Teiglum. Sired by Fantastic again, she is out of a Knock Yardsman dam and from the same family as Garngour Alabama, Harestone Central Bank and Garngour Craftsman. She found a new home with Tom Ayrton, Lancashire.
Following her at £2850 was David Preacher’s best of the sale,PDV1914107, from the Holylee flock. This Knap Bartok daughter is out of a Plasucha dam by Eden Valley Wiz Kid. This one heads across the water to Northern Ireland with Liam Donohoe, Derrylin.
Two then sold at £2300, with the first of these being CKP1903829 from Robert Cockburn’s Knap flock. This Knock Travis daughter is out of an Ettrick Rainbow Warrior-sired dam which has already sold daughters to 9000gns. Taking her was Kevin Cochran, Darwen, Lancashire.
Second at this level was one from Robbie Wilson, Milnbank. This was LYM1903654, a daughter of Strathbogie Yes Sir out of a dam by Aman Vyrnwy and sold to Gavin Brown, Penicuik
Close behind at £2250 was a Garngour Alabama daughter from the same home, LYM1903685. She is out of a dam by Glenside Wild Boy. She was the pick of S M B Farms, Dunning, Perth.
And making £2200 was another of Robbie Wilson’s entry, LYM1903668. Sired by Cowal Bucking Bronco, she is out of a ewe by Glenside Valhalla, which is ET sister to the 8000gns Milnbank Womaniser. She was another selling to Gavin Brown.
