The Teilo flock of John Eirian and Lynwen Davies claimed the championship and top spot in four of the five lamb classes in the Dyfed Texel Club’s recent progeny competition which was conducted by video entry for the second year.
The Teilo flock’s championship winners, and indeed all their first prize winners were by Hope Valley C The Stars, a tup owned by fellow Dyfed Club member Willy Davies of the Usk Vale flock.
Adding to C The Stars’ spoils was the winning entry in the remaining lamb class, with this being won by John and Gloria Davies, Aman.
Judge Charlie Boden found his champions in the group of five class, with the Teilo flock also taking second spot in this class with a quintet of ram lambs, this time by Mattadale Dance Monkey. In third were another Teilo group by Dance Monkey, this time five ewe lambs.
Charlie Boden stuck with Teilo and C the Stars for his reserve champions. A pair of ewe lambs. Second to them were another pair by C the Stars, this time from John and Gloria Davies, Aman. Third in this class were ewe lambs from the Reed family, Tyngwndwn, by Mellor Vale Daimler.
In the other lamb classes Teilo took the mixed group of three with an group by C the Stars. Dylan and Louise Jones, Steddfa got in the prizes with their only entry, a group by Karven Dominator, bought from fellow club member Steve Lewis in Lanark.
The Aman flock was back in the prizes in the pair of ram lambs with another C the Stars pair. Club chairman Keith Thomas, (Tywi followed up with a pair by his Tamnamoney tup. Coming third in this class, and the group of three, was Eldon Thomas, Wydden, with lambs by Millars Dalton.
Eldon topped a strong pair of gimmers class with two by Wydden Boom, and also took third with Auldhouseburn Billy the Kid gimmers. Splitting his entries were a pair by Arkle Captain Flash from Teilo.
John and Gloria Davies then rounded off their campaign with a win in the group of five gimmers. Their group were all by Knap Angus Ogg. Close on their heels were five gimmers from Rhodri Jones, Llanthomas, by Clun Admiral.
Tony Williams (Stelfox) lived up to his reputation for strong shearling tups topping and tailing the pair class. The first prize went to a pair by Bromley Banker and the third placed pair were by stable mate, Bromley Blue Print. In the middle this time was a strong supporter of all club activities Wayne Phillips, Townswood, with two tups by Rhaeadr Braveheart.

Points.
In the points section Teilo took top spot with an identical haul to last year at 17 points. Aman followed in second with eight points, with Wydden on six and Stelfox on four points.
Winning the stock tup points award was Hope Valley C the Stars with 17 points, followed by Mattadale Dance Money with three points. Then came Wydden Boom and Knap Angus Ogg, followed any Bromley Banker.
