The Gloucester and Borders Texel Club’s Christmas Present sale of in-lamb Texels resulted in a 1000gns top call for a gimmer from the Quick family’s Loosebeare flock.
This was QEL1707853, a triplet-born daughter of Loosebeare Voomer out of a dam by Loosebeare Saviour. She sold to Will Braund, Whitstones, Holworthy, Devon, in-lamb to Millar’s Abu Dhabi.
Second best of the day at 850gns was Nicola Hartwright’s gimmer HWN1703496 from the Whitehart flock. She is a Douganhill Whisky Mac daughter out of a ewe by Humestone River Dance. This one had run with a Loosebeare sire ahead of the sale and was bought by C and M Ruby, Ashwater, Beaworthy, Devon.
Then making 800gns was the champion from the pre-sale show from David and Thomas Bradley-Farmer’s Meonside flock, FTD1702664. This daughter of Whitehart Wild eye is out of a dam by Procters Unlimited and sold in-lamb to the 23,000gns Peacehay Ya Belter. She sold to L Goldsmith, Hallow, Worcester.
At the same money was another of the Loosebeare gimmers, QEL1708098. A Whitehart Ultra Modern daughter out of a dam by Douganhill Ferrari and in-lamb to Millar’s Abu Dhabi. She sold to Phil Loveland, Maidstone, Kent.
Following her at 760gns was the best of the day from the Peacehay pen of the Chave family, CFP1701658, a Clarks Wizard daughter out of a dam by Scolton Panther and in-lamb to Sheeoch Tardis. This one was taken by R Wallace, Lapworth, Solihull.
And two then made 720gns, with the first being HWN1703363 from Nicoal Hartwright. This Blackadder Weaver daughter is out of a Humeston River Dance-sired dam and sold haiving run with Brijon Youre The Boy. She was the pick of previous buyers C and M Ruby.
The same vendor-buyer combination was also responsible for the other at 720gns, with this being HWN1703357, another by River Dance and this time out of a Langside The Gaffer daughter. She was offered in-lamb to Brijon Apache.
Two then followed at 700gns, with the first being another purchased by Messrs Ruby. This was HWN1703326, another Whitehart gimmer this time by Knock Will.I.Am and out of a dam by Langside The Gaffer. She sold in-lamb to Brijon Apache.
A Peacehay gimmer then made the same money, with this being CFP1701622, a triplet-born daughter of Clarks Wizard out of a Blaencar Valiant-sired dam. She was sold in-lamb to Sheeoch Tardis and was bought by previous buyer Phil Loveland.
Close behind at 680gns was another from the Chaves, CFP1701685. This is another by Clarks Wizard and out of a dam by Peacehay Untouchable. She was sold in-lamb to Auldhouseburn Big Bob and was knocked down to Debbie Dawe, Whitstones, Holworthy.
Another at this price was HWN1703427 from the Whitehart pen. This gimmer is by Loosebeare Yahoo and out of a dam by Cherryvale Shergar. Sold in-lamb to Arkle Armageddon, she was bought by R Cruse, Thatcham, Berkshire.
Then came a brace at 660gns, with the first of these coming from J A Wright’s Hayton pen. This was WJZ1700707, a Cambwell World Class daughter out of a dam by Clun Ultimate. Selling in-lamb to Bridgeview Agri King, she was taken by P J Amphlett, Edgton, Craven Arms.
The other at this price was the best from the dispersal of the Atok flock for D Roddy Jones. This was JDA1601781, a one-crop ewe by Beautry Warwick and out of a dam by Whitehart Umpire. She sold to A J Small, Harvington, Evesham, in-lamb to Strathbogie Vision.
