The champion from the pre-sale show, a ewe hogg from the MacPherson family’s Hexel flock took the top call of 5000gns at the Longtown Ladies in-lamb sale.
Making this money was MZH2501243, a Knap High Flyer daughter out of a dam by Procters Chumba Wumba. She sold to the Mosey family, Blackdale.
Next in line at 3800gns was a gimmer from Steven Renwick, Craig Douglas. This was XSR2432632, an Allanfauld Fast and Furious daughter out of a dam by Ettrick Eastern Promise and in-lamb to Haddo Impressive. This was another heading back to the Blackdale flock with the Moseys.
Then at 3200gns was one from the MacGregor family, Allanfauld. Their pen topper, XMM2427859, is by Sportsmans Grand Slam and out of a dam by Seaforde Egyptian Warrior. She was offering carrying to the 60,000gns Auldhouseburn In Business Now and sold to Ed Samuel and family, Hendre.
A pair then made 2800gns, with the first being from the Clark family’s Garngour flock, CJN2409740. This is a Forkins Fancy daughter out of a dam by Procters Chumba Wumba which was champion at the Royal Highland in 2022. She sold carrying to Duncryne Houdini and was knocked down to Adam Mawson, Midcombe.
Second at this price was another from the Allanfauld pen, XMM2427900. She’s another by Forkins Fancy and is out of a Craighead-bred dam by Usk Vale Eagle. In-lamb to Harestone Indiana Jones, she was taken by Gareth Flett, Nistaben.
And two followed on at 2600gns. First at this level was an Auldhouseburn gimmer from Alan Blackwood, BYZ2435247. She’s by Hope Valley Golden Balls and out of a dam by Haymount Fan Dabi Dozi. Carrying a single to Okehall Hammerhead, she went home with Messrs Allan, Cauldcoats.
The other at this level was from Robert Cockburn’s Knap pen, CKP2408419. This Teiglum Golaith daughter is out of a dam by Sportsmans Deal Breaker and sold in-lamb to Duncryne Hakuna Matata with twins. She found a new home with Alistair Jackson, Topgun.
