Early NSA Sale hits 2000gns twice

Texel trade was strong at the Early NSA Ram Sale, Brecon, where a 74% clearance was achieved on an average of £845, up by more than £130 on the year.

Topping the prices were a brace at 2000gns, with the first of these coming from the Chave family which found a new home with J and R M Lucas and Son, for their Fimber flock, Driffield.

Second at this money was the pre-sale champion from Gethin Hatcher’s Penllain flock, with this one taken by J H and C G O Davies, Trefaesfawr, Beulah.

Following that was one at 1600gns from Robert and Nesta Watkins which found a new home with R W and C S Richards, Craswall,

A 1350gns bid followed that for another from the Chaves’ pen, with this one knocked down to Ben Attewell and family, Magor.

Close behind at 1300gns was the best of the day from Russell and Gill Watkin’s Millend flock. Buying this one were R W and L A Jones, Erwood.

Gethin Hatcher then sold another at 1150gns, with this one taken by R C Davies and a further one from the same pen sold at 1100gns to D I Morgan.

Average; 46 shearling rams £845.71 (+£134.57) (Clee Tomkins and Francis).
