Taking the top call at Monday’s Ruthin Texel Club sale was a gimmer from the Draper family’s Claybruy flock at 2000gns.
This was DHL1701138, an ET bred daughter of Knock Yankee out of a dam by Stainton Vantage II and with an index of 284. She sold to Rob Evans, Minsterley.
Second best of the gimmers was a 1200gns call for Robert Laird’s LTC1703883 from the Cambwell flock, with this one being by Grougfoot Wizard and out of a dam by Strathbogie Usher. Selling with an index of 346, she was knocked down to B L and A M Jones, Pwllheli.
And making 800gns was another from the same home, LTC1703880, a twin by Grougfoot Wizard and out of a Hilltop Valhalla daughter. This one was bought by W E and I A Lewis, Ystrad Meurig.
Best call in the ram lambs was a 1700gns bid for one from the Williams’ family’s Llyfni flock, WHA17015533, a son of Glanllyn Attraction out of a Brackenridge Undercover daughter and was taken by I T and H M Jones, Saron, Denbigh.
Then at 1450gns was Sportsmans Boom from Messrs Boden and Davies. Sired by Garngour Alabama and out of a homebred dam by the 145,000gns Knap Vicious Sid, he was bought by Rob Bennett for the Plasucha flock, Meifod.
Another from the Sportsmans pen then sold at 1200gns, with this one being Sportsmans Blanco. Also by Amalert, he is out of a dam by Milnbank Times Square and was the pick of D Jones, Ederin.
Then selling for 1050gns was Bryniau Bleddyn from H Hughes, a Sportsmans Y Not son out of a dam by Haddo Snoopy. He was bought by W A Jones, Groes.
Leading the way in the shearling ram trade at 1600gns was Jonathan Rees’ Pant Idda, a Teiglum Valiant son out of a dam by Ettrick U Cracker, with this one selling to J G Rich and Son, Erw Goed.
Following that at 1350gns was Caron Armani from D G and N Williams, with this one being by Tamnamoney Yeti and out of a Forkins Vodka daughter. He was taken by C L and C Watkins and Sons, Oswestry.
Esmor Evans then sold a brace from the Maerdy flock at 1250gns, with the first being Maerdy Adam, a Seiont Unigolyn son out of a dam by Loosebeare Saviour. He sold to A E Williams, Craven Arms.
The other at this price was EDO1701565, another by Unigolyn and out of a dam by Peacehay Special Edition. He found a new home with D F Ifan, Llanrhaeadr.
The same buyer then spent 1050gns on EDO1701514 from the same home. He’s by Loosebeare Warlord and out of a dam by Seiotn Unigolyn.
