Scottish recording flocks should book their ultrasound scanning appointment at the earliest opportunity to ensure their lambs are scanned in time for data to be submitted in accordance with BLUP run deadlines.

In a change to previous years lambs can this year be scanned at earlier dates provided lambs are big enough (about 40kg, with the flock average approaching 35kg, without having a detrimental affect on their EBVs.
Recording flocks not showing at the Royal Highland are particularly urged to consider scanning during the show week to ensure data is collected on time.
