Topping the trade at the Shropshire and Borders Texel Club’s sale, Shrewsbury, was the champion from the pre-sale show, shearling ram Cressage Infinity from Neil and Matthew Ellis.
This one, by Maerdy Extra Special, is out of a dam by Whitehart Class Act and sold at 5200gns to the pre-sale judge Paul Quick, Loosebeare, with a half share taken by Jim and Nicola Hartwright, Whitehart.
Second best at 2200gns was Oak Farm Impressive from the Hardman family. He’s by Haymount Forefather and out of a dam by Clun Artic Star and was knocked down to G and J Jerman.
At the same price was Oak Farm Isuzu from the same home, with this one being a Cae Coed Himself son out of a dam by Hartside Carlton. Buying this one was David Williams.
Leading the ram lambs was a quartet of 600gns bids, the first of which Waen Jack Daniels from Brian Joseph. This one is by Allanfauld Immense and out of an Ettrick Gangster daughter.
Another from the same home, Waen James Bond, then made the same money. He’s also by Allanfauld Immense and out of a dam by Deveronvale Fastrac.
Third at 600gns was Kimbolton Jester from Paul Phillips. This son of the homebred Kimbolton Intrepid is out of a dam by Wallington Special Brew and sold with a top 1% index.
And the final 600gns bid came for another from the same pen, Kimbolton Jagger. This one is by Eden Valley Hollywood and is out of a dam by Kimbolton Glorious Gigots and again sold with a top 1% index.
Females
Leading the female trade were a brace at 600gns, both coming from the Gibbs family’s Bettonfield flock. First at this level was GEB2501966, a Millend Guiness daughter out of a dam by Oldford Cayle.
The second Bettonfield gimmer at this price was GEB2501998. She’s similarly bred, also being by Millend Guiness and out of a different dam by Oldford Cayle.
