Leading the trade at the North West Texel Breeders Club Sale, J36, was a Mellor Vale gimmer from Charlie Boden and family, BCM2401947, when selling at 2500gns.
She’s a daughter of the 170,000gns Knap Grumpy out of a dam by Castlecairn Doodlebug and sold to L Shuttleworth, Carnforth, Lancs, having been champion in the pre-sale show.
Next best at 2000gns was a Strathbogie-bred aged ewe from Mark Collins’ Logram flock. This was IJS2307773, an Auldhouseburn Fancy Pants daughter out of a dam by Mullan Armani and a second prize winner from last year’s Great Yorkshire Show. She found a new home with Messr Symes for their Anglezarke flock.
At the same money was a gimmer from Roy and Elizabeth Campbell’s Cowal pen, CKC2415698. She’s by the homebred Cowal Galatico and out of a dam by Sportsmans Express. Sold carrying to Thornbury Ironside, she was the pick of P T Anderton for the Tuson flock.
And then making 1800gns was the best of the say from Eamonn Vaughan’s Partridge Nest flock, VAE2400811. She’s an Auldhouseburn Ghost daughter out of a dam by Teiglum Cinnamon and also sold to the Tuson flock of P T Anderton.
Also selling at 1800gns was one from the Sportsmand flock of the Boden family, BGS2407240. Sired by Castlecairn Doodlebug and out of a dam by Teiglum Younggun, she was offered in-lamb to Uppermill Highway Express, this year’s Great Yorkshire Show interbreed champion, and went home with H Huddleston and Son, Carnforth, Lancs.
