Shearling ram Belsize Hagrid led the Texel trade at Melton Mowbray when selling for 900gns. This one from the Jarvis family is by Milnbank Globetrotter and out of a dam by Lincs You Star. He sold to join A R and J Collett, Banbury.
Next in line at 820gns was Abingdon Houdini, an Ulmus Emporium son from L Ruby. He’s out of a Sportsmans Eye Catcher-sired dam and found a new home with J H Grundy, Spalding.
Then at 800gns was another from the Jarvis family, Belsize Hector. Sired by Greenall Frankie, he’s out of a dam by Eagleside Dynamo and was bought by previous buyers A R and J Collett.
Also at 800gns was Robin Creighton’s Endway Harry. This one is by Corras Flintoff and out of a dam by New View Electrifying and was taken by Shane Parry, Southam.
Leading the ram lambs at 700gns was Midview Iceball from George Whitehouse, with this being a Tima High Roller son out of an Okehall-bred ram by Rhaeadr Entrepreneur. Buying him was Daniel Creighton, Lapworth.
Second best here at 650gns was Wyrebeck Indiana Jones from the Parker family. He’s by Rhaeadr Golden Eagle and out of a Knock-bred dam by Knock Crackerjack and sold to Z Collett, Banbury.
Empire production sale
The same day saw the production sale from Phil and Helen Weaver’s Empire flock, with trade here peaking at 1400gns for WPU2430389, a Scolton Fielder daughter out of a dam by Blackadder Well Hung, with this one finding a new home with P Jones.
Second best at 1000gns was WPU2430419, a Canllefaes Big Boy daughter out of another Well Hung-sired dam. She sold to Wilodge, Shropshire.
And then at 900gns was WPU2430869. This Millend Desert Orchid daughter is again out of a Well Hung dam and was taken by J H Grundy, Spalding.
Close behind at 880gns was a Dunhonw Flaming Hot daughter, WPU2430539, with this one being out of a dam by Canllefaes Big Boy. Buying this one was J Eckensley, Chorley.
Following her were two at 850gns, the first of which was a daughter of the homebred Empire Ego, WPU2430510. She’s out of a Canllefaes Big Boy-sired dam and headed away with B J Handley, Grantham.
The other at the same money was WPU24030853 a Peacehay Donkey Kong daughter. She’s out of a dam by Blaencar Dragonheart and was another knocked down to previous buyers Wilodge.
