A brace of shearling rams hit the top spot of 2000gns at the Shropshire and Borders Club sale, Shrewsbury, with a 91% clearance in the shearlings and 181 levelling at £890.
First at the top call was one from G V and J A Hardman’s Oak Farm consignment, Oak Farm Hotshot, a Haymount Forefather son out of a dam by Clun Artic Star. He sold to J T and G M Edwards.
Second at 2000gns was one from Roger and Anthony Williams, Clun. This was Clun Hunter, a Teiglum Fightstar son out of a dam by Clun Body Builder, with this one bought by Messrs Hudson.
Then making 1800gns was Doonguile Hendry from Will and Jackie Forester, with this one being a son of the homebred Doonguile Dram and out of a dam by Clun Achilles. He found a new home with G Andrew.
Next in line then at 1700gns was Preenbank Hardy from Fred and Bryn Robinson. Sired by homebred tup Preenbank Gogether, he’s out of a dam by Charben Bare Back and sold to T E Duggan and Son.
Then making 1650gns was another from the same home, Preenbank Hans. He’s by Strawfrank Glenfiddich and out of a dam by Preenbank Captain and was taken by O L and W J Davies.
Close behind at 1620gns was Doonguile Hamlet from the Forresters, with this one being by Doonguile Forrester and out of a dam by Brijon Chieftain. He sold to E Rowlands.
And making 1600gns was Clun Highlight from the Williams family. Sired by Teiglum Fearless, he’ s out of a dam by Oldford Edwardian and was knocked down to O L and W J Davies.
Females
Top call in the females was a 1500gns bid for a gimmer from Claybury Texels, DHL2402418. She’s by Claybury Gladiator and out of a dam by Scholars Yahoo and sold with a top 25% texelplus index when bought by Matthew Ellis.
Second top here was a ewe lamb from Tom Morgan’s Morwood flock, QMQ2503209. This Mellor Vale Huntsman daughter is out of a dam by Seaforde Empire King and was the pick of Kevin Cobbledick.
And at 800gns was a Claybury ewe lamb, DHL2502681. This Wedderburn Highlander daughter is out of a dam by Strathbogie Cannonball and has a top 10% texelplus index. She found a new home with the Tiki flock of B, R and D Lowe.
