Texels once again proved the pick of the trade, selling to a high of 3800gns for the day’s pre-sale champion from the Mellor Vale flock of Charlie Boden. This was BCM1600402, a daughter of Strathbogie Whiplash out of a dam by Milnbank Special One and in lamb to the 70,000gns Teiglum Young Gun. This one was the pick of Andrew and Becky Bishop, Eldersfield, Gloucestershire.
Following her at 1800gns was one from Gordon Gray’s Ettrick pen, GGH1606130, an ET bred gimmer by Shannagh Won-O-Won and out of a dam by Sportsmans Unimog. She sold in-lamb to the 60,000gns Clinterty Yuga Khan. She sold to Tom Williams, Felton, Bristol.
And at the same money was another from the same pen, GGH1606172, a Douganhill Vital Spark daughter out of a dam by Glue Gates Top Gun and again in lamb to the 60,000gns Clinterty Yuga Khan. This one headed north of the border to David Morrison, Barr, Girvan.
Charlie Boden then took 1400gns for another Strathbogie Whiplash daughter, BCM1600408. This one is out of a Tullagh Tonka dam and sold carrying to Teiglum Young Gun. She found a new home with Paul Castle, Washingley, Peterborough.
After that came a 1300gns call for the final entry from Gordon Gray, GGH1606060, an Ellen Valley Warlord daughter out of a dam by Glenside Ring A Ding. This one is a maternal sister to the 8500gns Tima Ace and sold carrying to the 17,000gns Usk Vale Albatross. She was taken by James Theyer, Little Clanfield, Oxfordshire.
Selling at 1200gns was one from Messrs Boden and Davies’ Sportsmans pen, BGS1602152, another by the successful Strathbogie Whiplash and out of a dam by Milnbank Special One. She sold to Paul Castle, Washingley, having been served by Teiglum Young Gun.
Another from the same pen then made 1100gns, with this being BGS1602155. Again by Whiplash she is out of another Special One daughter and sold having been served by Clinterty Yogi Bear. This one was also the pick of Paul Castle.
Four then traded at 1000gns, with the first three all being Sportsmans entries. First at this level was BGS1602237. This Whiplash daughter out of a Milnbank Ur The Boy daughter and sold in-lamb to Fordafourie Amalert. She was knocked down to Tom Williams, Felton, Bristol.
Second to make this money was BGS1602196. This Whiplash daughter sold in-lamb to Clinterty Yogi Bear and is out of a Special One daughter. She was taken by Harvey Sillis, Edgefield, Melton Constable.
Paul Castle was back in action buying the last of these three, BGS1602279, a Knap Vicious Sid daughter out of a dam by Tullylagan Tonka. She was offered carrying to Fordafourie Amalert.
The final 1000gns call came for Richard Wilson’s Eden Valley gimmer, 1600662, a Hexel Wildcard daughter out of a dam by Oberstown Usain Bolt. She was sold in-lamb to Ghros Andy and was bought by Peter Longdin, Tickhill, Doncaster.
Texel senior ewes peaked at 800gns for Henry Ashley and family’s entry, AHL1400748. This is a Cambwell Thunder daughter out of a dam by Glenside Schumacher and sold to J W and R W Osbourne, Denby Village, Derbyshire, having been served by Tullylagan War Horse.
