This year’s Select Seven Sale at Lanark on Saturday 9th December will see the Gray family’s Ettrick and Tima flocks offer an in-lamb Texel gimmer in aid of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
Doddie Weir is one of rugby’s most recognisable personalities. He earned 61 caps for Scotland during a successful playing career.
In June 2017 the Scot revealed he was suffering from Motor Neurone Disease an incurable disease. In November 2017 Doddie and his Trustees launched the registered charity My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
It may be too late to find something that can help me, explained Doddie. “But I am committed to doing everything I can to help find a cure.
“My attitude is that you should do what you can today and worry about tomorrow when it comes. This is the card I’ve been dealt so I’ve just got to crack on.”
The gimmer on offer is GGH1606181, a Knock Papoose daughter out of GGH1404118, herself a Sportsmans Unimog daughter and Stirling Show champion in 2015 as a gimmer. This gimmer sells in-lamb to Hartside All-Star with an index of 294.
