Peacehay Harvester reaps top call at Exeter

The Chave family led the trade at the South West NSA Ram Sale, Exeter, when their shearling ram, Peacehay Harvester, made 2350gns. Sired by the homebred Peacehay Untouchable, he is out of a dam by Teiglum Tornado and sold to G D Swerling and Sons, Buckinghamshire.

Then making 2150gns was Emma and Amy Coumbe’s best of the day, Housey Heart-Breaker. This Empire Fletcher son is out of a dam by Cattlearch Drake and was knocked down to R Gregory, Truro.

A 1450gns call followed that, with this money paid for the Quick family’s Loosebeare Home Run, a Scrogtonhead Flashy son out of a dam by Loosebeare A-One. This one headed to Buckinghamshire with A Tackley and Son.

After that at 1300gns was Housey Hulk from the Coumbes. Again by Empire Fletcher, he’s also out of a dam by Cattlearch Drake and sold to R Edwards, Dorchester.

The Tackleys then paid 1250gns for another from the Quicks’ pen, Loosebeare Hercules. This one is by Strathbogie Fabulous and is out of a dam by Teiglum Cosmic.

A pair then sold at 1200gns, the first of which was Loosebeare Houdino, a Loosebeare Dynamo son out of dam by Brijon Youre The Boy. He found a new home with G J and P Arscott, Umberleigh.

And the other at this price was Ettrick Hitman, consigned by Gareth Hutchings. He’s by Sadlerhead Fury and out of dam by Midcombe Brigadier and sold to Messrs Tackley.

Females

Leading the female trade at 1800gns was one from Henry Summerhayes, Holywell. This was SQH2400041, a Strathbogie Epic daughter out of a dam by Clarks Wizard and bought by Mark Davis, Tiverton.

Another from the same pen, SQH240042, an Usk Vale Fandabidozi daughter out of a dam by the 42,000gns Mullan Armani, with this one selling to D W Ridd, Barnstaple.

Averages; 30 gimmers £704.55, four ewe lambs £454.13, 82 ram lambs £876.24 (Kivells).
