It was David Gray’s Tima flock which took the top call of 2800gns at the North West Texel Club’s in-lamb sale, Kendal.
Leading the trade was GCT2315288, a Mullan Firefly daughter out of a dam by Procters Class Act and carrying to Saddlerhead Fury. She was the pick of Cathal Harkin, Loughash.
Next in line at 2000gns was one from Charlie Boden and family’s Sportsmans flock, BGS2306732. Sired by Haymount Fan Dabi Dozi, she’s out of a dam by Garngour Craftsman and sold in-lamb to Knap Grumpy when bought by Barney Richrdson, Fernyford.
Close behind at 1800gns was one from Gordon Gray’s Ettrick entry, GGH2315097. This Sadlerhead Fury daughter is out of a dam by Midcombe Brigadier and is an ET sister to the 42,000gns Ettrick Grey Goose and the £35,000 Ettrick Gruffalo. She sold with a top 25% index to B I and B M Mosey, Blackdale.
Then making 1500gns was BGS2306492 from the Bodens. This one is by Rhaeadr First Choice and out of a Procters-bred dam by Sportsmans Batman and sold in-lamb to Overburns Hurricane and went home with Ben Vernon, Charben.
At the same money was the best of the ewe lambs, DJJ2400353 from the Dunlop family’s Holtridge flock. This one is by Duncryne Geronimo and out of a Scholars-bred dam by Knock Eagle. She headed home with Charlie Fielder, Test Valley.
Another ewe lamb, this time from Rory Dunlop’s Star Ridge flock, then made 1400gns. This was DXR2400366, another by Duncryne Geronimo and this time out of a Rhaeadr-bred dam by Sportsmans Enforcer. She was the pick of Nick Walker for the Standish flock.
And making 1200gns was an Overburns gimmer from Keith and Andrew Campbell. This was KOB2315143 a Haddo Falcon daughter out of a Castlecairn-bred dam by Sportsmans Dirty Harry. Buying this one were J T Cunningham and Co, Hillhead, Mauchline.
Two then made 1100gns with the first being another of the Sportsmans pen, BGS2306798. Sired by Rhaeadr First Choice and out of a Knap-bred dam by Sportsmans Cannon Ball, she sold with a top 5% texelplus index and carrying to Knap Grumpy. Buying her was R E E Robson, Allenheads, Hexham.
The same buyer then paid the same money for a New View gimmer from the Teward family, TWF2301513. She’s by Garngour First Class and out of a dam by Sportsmans Double Diamond. She was in-lamb to Midlock Gran Torino.
