A 5000gns call was the leading price at Saturday’s production sale from the Loosebeare flock of the Quick family and the Whitehart flock of Jim and Nicola Hartwright at Worcester, was a Loosebeare gimmer, QEL1909823.

This daughter of the homebred Loosebeare Voomer is out of a dam by Strawfrank Wild Thing which stood interbreed champion at Devon County and Okehampton Shows in 2017. After spirited bidding, this one was knocked down to Robin Orr and his daughter, Caroline, for the Halbeath flock, Fife.
The same buyer then took the top price from the Whitehart flock at 2400gns. This shearling ewe, HWN1904440, is by the 7800gns Cherryvale Shergar and out of a Loosebeare Voomer daughter.

Next best from the Loosebeare offering and selling for 2800gns was QEL1909843. Again, by Voomer, this one is out of a homebred Canllefaes Vantastic daughter. She was one of five lots, purchased by Monnow Marquees, Monmouth, Monmouthshire.

At 2600gns was another from Loosebeare, QEL1910149, a daughter of the 5800gns Millar’s Abu Dhabi and out of a daughter of Alticane Yo Yo. This one was knocked down to I M Heard, Okehampton, Devon.
Meanwhile, at 1900gns was another from the Loosebeare string, QEL1909815, a daughter of the 7000gns Brijon Apache out of a homebred Ballynahone Winner daughter. This one sold to D M Davies, Llanon, Ceredigion.
At 1800gns was the second best from the Whitehart pen in the form of HWN1904398. This Cherryvale Shergar daughter is out of a homebred daughter of Langside The Gaffer and sold to previous buyer Monnow Marquees.
The same buyers then paid the same money for one from the Loosebeare pen, QEL1910019, a daughter of Loosebeare A-One out of a Strathbogie Terminator daughter.
