Robert Cockburn’s Knap flock once again led the trade at the Solway and Tyne Club’s second sale, when taking 4500gns for Knap Go For It, a Haddo Fabio son out of Knap Daisy Duke, the dam of both the 170,000gns and 100,000gns Knap lambs from Lanark earlier in the season. This March-born ET lamb sold to join John Green’s Greenall flock, Melrose.
Second best at 3500gns was a full brother to the sale topper in the form of Knap Gandolph. This one was taken by Michael James and family, Duhonw.
A 3000gns call then took Hilltop Gypsy Lad from Kenny Pratt, with this Auldhouseburn Fancy Pants son being out of a Sportsmans Chieftain daughter. He was knocked down to Stuart Currie, Beautry, having stood champion in the pre-sale show.
Then making 2500gns was Okehall Ghost Rider from Mike Turner. This son of Knap Flying Scotsman, himself a son of Daisy Duke, is out of the same Charben Babe Magnet daughter as the 50,000gns Okehall Fireball. He was the pick of Oliver Harrison, Aimshaugh.
And at the same money was Okehall Gunner from Mike Turner. He’s by Rhaeadr Entrepreneur and out of a Haymount Earth Wind and Fire daughter and was taken by Messrs Brown, Darwin.
Females
Gimmers from Mike and Melanie Alford’s Foxhillfarm flock led the female trade, with the top call of 2000gns paid for AFO2200331. She’s a Sportsmans Cannon Ball daughter out of a Plasucha-bred dam by Eden Valley Wiz Kid and sold to Caps Texels, Kirkudbrightshire.
At the same money was one from a draft from the Knockem flock of the Nicholson family. This was NIC2219050, a Procters Eye Catcher daughter out of a dam by Midlock Baa Baa. She sold to Messrs Duthie, Bechin.
She was followed at 1500gns by AFO2200330 from the Alfords. She is a full sister to the section leader, with this one bought by Messrs Howard, Middlesborough.
And making 1300gns was AFO2200327, another ET sister to the previous two. She was the pick of Robert and Rebecca Jordan for the Moortown flock, Gidleigh.
