The Northern Ireland Texel Breeders Club sale at Enniskillen saw a ram lamb from Rodney Harron’s Stragowna pen top the trade at 920gns. This was the first prize ram lamb and overall champion from the pre-sale show, a Seaforde Fun Police son out of a Plasucha champion dam,
Also selling to jointly top the sale at the same money was Alistair Breen’s Drumderg exhibit, a Mullan Eureka son out of a Plasucha Champion daughter.
Gary Beacom’s Lakeview exhibit caught the judges eye for the third place rosette with his Hexel Fan Club son out of a Plasucha Aberfeldy sired dam which later sold for 740gns. However, it was this sheep’s pen mates which topped the ram lamb sales for the Lakeview pen with Lakeview Gallant another Hexel Fan Club son selling for 800gns.
Leading the shearling ram trade at 860gns was Gary Beacom’s first prize winner and reserve champion. This was Lakeview Frankie, a March-born Glenside Emerald King son out of a Plasucha Aberfeldy daughter. Lakeview Fredster also from the Lakeview pen and another Glenside Emerald King son and full brother to the reserve champion sold for 700gns.
Next in the shearling rams was Geoffrey Cathcart’s Carnview Fancy. He is a Garngour Emerald son out of a Procters Cocktail daughter and later sold for 560gns. One from Andrew Hutchinson’s Round Island pen then sold at 460gns, with this being Dynawhite Fighter, a March-born Mullan Eureka son out of a daughter by Harestone Commander purchased as a lamb.
