Alastair Gault’s Forkins flock topped the prices at the Northern Ireland Texel Breeders Club’s in-lamb sale, selling the day’s pre-sale champion at 1000gns.
This was GAF2203417 a Castlecairn Doodlebug daughter out of a dam by Clarks Bolt and carrying twins to Douganhill Gangster. She sold to Leonard Linton’s Bregagh flock.
She was followed by four gimmers at 700gns, the first of which was from the Kiltariff flock of the Bell family. This was BBK2201236, a Clinterty Yuga Khan daughter out of a dam by Knap Bonanza and in-lamb to Seaforde Firecracker. Buying her was W J Thompson.
Second at this price was another from the Forkins pen, GAF2203470. Sired by the homebred Forkins Egyptian King, she’s out of a dam by Tophill Yankee Boy and sold in-lamb to Haymount Fancy That. Carrying twins she found a new home with J Milligan.
Another at 700gns was Jack Gault’s Cheeryvale gimmer, GCN2203556. She’s another by Castlecairn Doodlebug and is out of a Scotsman Ace daughter and sold in-lamb to Haymount Fancy That. Buying her was P McCall.
The final at this money was the best of the evening from Gary Beacom’s Lakeview flock, LKV2208657. She’s by Alderview Explosive and out of a dam by Plasucha Aberfeldy and sold in-lamb to Hexel Fan Club. She found a new home with Naomi and Rian O’Hare’s Millburn flock.
