Applications are now open for a 2015 EBLEX Better Returns Programme Farm Innovation Grant. Interested parties must have three or more farmers in their group and be interested to investigate an innovative approach or solution to an element of beef or sheep management which has the potential to improve producer returns. A grant of up to £5000 is available from EBLEX to help support the project and fund technical assistance. This could include the cost of sample analysis or specialist advice or in some cases capital equipment (up to a maximum of £1000).
A simple application form is attached with a closing date of 7th February. All applications will be assessed on their innovation, and value to English beef and sheep farmers, as well as their level of monitoring and technical assessment. Up to six grants will be awarded to commence from May 2015. Successful applicants will be asked to provide an interim report and a final report to share the lessons learnt from their project. EBLEX reserve the right to communicate the outcomes of the project via press articles and possibly an on farm event to showcase the technology.
Interested parties can learn more from the attached background and application form.
