Centre record at Christmas Classic

Robbie Wilson’s Milnbank flock set a new breed centre record when selling a ewe lamb for 7000gns at the Aberdeen Christmas Classic on Monday (28 November).

Sale topper, LYM2204726 is an ET bred twin daughter of Harestone Eldorado out of a dam by Auldhouseburn Billy The Kid and sold to join Hugh and Alan Blackwood’s Auldhouseburn flock, Muirkirk.

Second best of the day was a 3600gns call for a gimmer from the same home, LYM2104424. This Teiglum Dancing Brave daughter is out of a dam by Strathbogie Yes Sir and sold carrying to Knockem Ferocious.

Following her was another ewe lamb, this time from Sandy Lee’s Fordafourie flock. This one, LAF2200621, is by Teiglum Bandana and out of a dam by Milnbank Cortez and caught the eye of K Ingram, Grange, Keith.

After that came a 1600gns call for a Hilltop gimmer from Kenny Pratt, PKH2102781. Sired by Sportsmans Cannon Ball she is out of a dam by Eden Valley Y Not and was taken by W J Jack and Son, Muir of Ord, in-lamb to Auldhouseburn Fancy Pants.

Then making 1300gns was the best of the sale from Graham Morrison, Deveronvale. This was MGV2101994, a gimmer by Deveronvale Dave and out of a dam by Deveronvale Aftershock. She sold carrying to Teiglum Fivestar and was knocked down to G Adams, Banchory.

The same money was paid for the sold aged ewe offered, SED1901521 from Matthew Seed’s Auchry flock. This is a Boghouse Atlanta daughter out of a dam by Cambwell Very Shapely and sold having been served by Garngour Everton. Buying this one was A MacLean ISel of Barra.

Next in at 1200gns were three lots, with the first being from David McKerrow. This was DMN2100353, a Castlecairn Diamond daughter out of a dam by Knock Yankee and in-lamb to Ettrick Eartchquake. She sold with a texelplus index in the top 5% of the breed when bought by Wilson Peters, Crieff.

Also making this money was the next lot from the same home, DMN2100439. Sired by Forkins Bugatti, she is out of a dam by Stainton Young Gun and was again offered carrying to Ettrick Earthquake. She found a new home with W and M Cruden, Dyce.

And a third 1200gns call came for another of Sandy Lee’s ewe lambs, LAF2200625. This is another by Teiglum Bandanaand this time out of a dam by Fachell Victor. Buying this one was R Wilkie, Westhill.

Averages; 79 gimmers £633.17, 14 ewe lambs £1284.29, one aged ewe £1365 (ANM).
