Armoy sees 1550gns high

Leading the shearling ram section at the NITBC sale, Armoy, were Pat and Ros Garrivan of the Ballydesland Flock. Their first-prize shearling ram, Ballydesland Ivor, a son of the homebred Ballydesland Eddie, sold for 1550gns. Another Ballydesland Eddie son from the same pen, Ballydesland Icarus, matched that price.

Third place in the shearling class went to David Chestnutt of the Bushmills Flock with Clougher Iceman, which realised 1450gns. Murray Annett also enjoyed a successful day in the ring, selling Milestonehill Indy for 1280gns, while his second-placed exhibit, Milestonehill Isaac, sold for 1260gns.

The overall Steele Farm Supplies Championship was awarded to the first-prize ram lamb from the Lynbrooke Flock. Exhibited by Ivanna Strawbridge, Lynbrooke Jumanji, a son of Hexel Hidden Asset, topped the ram lamb trade at 980gns.

Close behind was Lonicera Jim Beam from A and R Dickson, which sold for 940gns. Martin and Cyril Millar secured 900gns for Millars Jack Ass, the second-prize ram lamb, while another lamb from the same pen sold for 800gns. Matching that price was Glenross James Bond from the Glenross Flock of Nigel Ross.
