Take time for yourself and others

The weather, livestock disease concerns and government regulation are just a handful of things farmers have on their minds at any one time.

And, with lambing underway for many, the ups and downs of farming are never far away and it can be easy to feel overwhelmed when things don’t go your way.

It is important to remember to take care of yourself and those around you, as well as your stock at this important time of year.

This week is The Farm Safety Foundation’s ‘Mind Your Head’ week, so take a step back, focus on what’s most important and remember to check in on those around you who may be feeling under pressure and struggling with things.

For anyone looking for ways to combat mental health issues the Farm Safety Foundation has a range of resources available on its website.

In addition, both the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institute and the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institute offer a range of support, as do a range of local and regional organisations.
