NITBC in-lambers hit 3500gns

The Northern Irish Texel Club’s in-lamb sale, Ballymena, hit a 3500gns high for a daughter of the 38,000gns Castlecairn Doodlebug out of a dam by Auldhouseburn Warlord.

Sold carrying to this year’s English National Sale leader, the 18,000gns Spellbound Fame and Fortune, she sold to Thomas Sheehy, Co Kerry.

James Adams’ Kerryhill dispersal consignment was next in line for the buyers’ popularity taking 2200gns for a Hexel Diamond Joe daughter out of a dam sired by Midlock Yorkie. She comes in lamb to Maineview Fireball and joined the Millars Flock of Cyril and Martin Millar Coleraine.

Selling from the same pen at 1000gns was a Teiglum Braveheart daughter out of a Strathbogie Yes Sir dam. She headed to Hannahstown to join James Cleland’s flock.

Going for the same money was another Doodlebug daughter from the Lakeview pen in lamb to Faem and Fortune and again selling to the Thomas Sheehy.

Continuing to dominate the leading prices were the Lakeview and Kerryhill consignments with their next bests selling for £850gns.  James Adams sold a Ballynahone Cantona daughter again in lamb to Maineview Fireball to local breeder Philip Whyte’s Innishrush flock with Gary Beacom’s selling another Doodlebug daughter also in lamb Fame and Fortune, with this one joining Alan Fleming’s flock, Gortin.

Leading the ewe lambs was the Kerryhill dispersal, with both of his top priced entries selling to Andrew Kennedy, Maineview. First up was a Hexel Diamond Joe daughter out of a dam by Ballynahone Cantona. Second best at 2000gns was this one’s full sister.

Next to join the sale leaders was Mark Priestly’s Seaforde pen with a Sportsmans Dare Devil daughter and out of 6000gns Knock dam which bred the 2002 Sire of the Year runner up Seaforde Empire King.  This ewe lamb joins Liam McPolins flock Newry.

Averages; 60 in-lamb females £637.80, 20 ewe lambs £648.38 (Ballymena Livestock Market).
