Thainstone Texel Rams Set Centre Record
Texels were the pick of the trade at the annual Thainstone ram sale on Tuesday 24th September when a ram lamb from Stuart Barclay’s Harestone flock set a new centre record for the breed when selling for 4000gns.
Harestone Ultimate Warrior
The sale leader, Harestone Ultimate Warrior is a son of 13,000gns sire Scholars Tiny Tempo and is out of a Tushingham dam by Teiglum Pledge. He sold to Messrs Scott, Wester Biffe, Maud, having stood reserve champion in the pre-sale show.
The Texel champion, from Graham Morrison, Deveronvale, sold for 1400gns to an undisclosed buyer. This shearling ram is a son of the 40,000gn Glenside Razzle Dazzle.
Averages: 80 Texel shearlings £594.16, 128 Texel ram lambs £496.53
