Shearling rams recorded a new centre best average of £3594 at the English National Sale, Worcester, with two hitting 11,000gns, another at 9500gns and a further three at 9000gns.
Taking the first of the top calls was Jonathan Watson and family’s Brijon flock when they sold Brijon Ignition, a Craig Douglas Gladiator son out of a dam by Meinspride Usain, with this one selling to Pilkington Farmers, Hartington, Derbyshire.
The other at this level was from David and Tom Bradley-Farmer, Dumfries and Galloway. Their pen topper was Meonside Its My Destiny, a son of the homebred Meonside Duke and out of a dam by the 23,000gns Peacehay Ya Belter. He was shared in a two-way split by R and B Smith for their Slapton flock and Owen and Rachel Watkins, Caenantmelyn.
Following him at 9500gns was Llion Jones’ tup, Pant Invincible. He’s a son of Peacehay Greatest Showman out of a dam by Stonegrove Cowan Dickie. He sold to join Robert and Nesta Watkins’ Corras flock.
Three then traded at 9000gns, the first of these being Loosebeare Imp from the Quick family. He’s a son of the homebred Loosebeare Foreman out of a dam by Brackenridge Eddie. This one headed away with Messrs Furness and Taylor for the Westgate flock.
The next two at this price both came from Jim and Nicola Hartwright’s Whitehart pen. First away was Whitehart Instigator, a Loosebeare Five Star son out of a dam by Whitehart Big Style. He’s stood fourth in the pre-sale show and was knocked down to the judge, Peter Gray, Scrogtonhead.
Whitehart Impulse was the other at this level from the Hartwrights. This is another son of Loosebeare Five Stat and is out of a dam by Brijon Deal Breaker. He found a new home with Joanthan Watson and family, Brijon.
It was back to the Loosebeare pen of the Quick family for the next best when Loosebeare Imperial sold at 8000gns. He’s by the homebred Loosebeare Fantastic and out of a dam by Brijon Deal Breaker. This one sold to Will Braund, Luckhill, with a half share retained by the Quicks.
Then at 7800gns was Whitehart Im Your Man from the Hartwrights. Sired by the £10,000 Harehead Governor, he’s out of a dam by Brijon Deal Breaker and sold to T C and R L Adams, Ty Medi.
Following him was Roxburgh I Am Legend from John Elliot at 7500gns. This one is Mershot Gifford and out of a dam by Walston Clansman and sold with a top 1% index when bought by D T A Williams, Abermule, Montgomery.
Gwilym Williams and family then took 6800gns for Caron I Am The One, a son of Peacehay Gangnam Style and is out of a dam by Hilltop Envy. He was bought by D Brooke for the Marwood flock, Middleham.

A pair then followed on at 6000gns, with the first being Brijon Illinois from Jonathan Watson and family. He’s by Craig Douglas Gladiator and out of a Harestone Emperor daughter and sold to Robert Cockburn, Knap.
Second at this price was Roxburgh Icarus from John Elliot. This son of Caron Fire is out of a Canllefaes Bright Spark-sired dam and was knocked down to H J and P A Berry for the Ribble Valley flock, with a half share going to Jonathan Watson and family, Brijon.
Then making 5500gns was Brijon Ironclad from Jonathan Watson and family. He’s by Whitehart Fast Track II and is out of a dam by Loosebeare Digger and was bought by Millie Furness, Nursery Fields.
Also selling at this level was Slapton Imperial from the Barbara Smith and family. This son of Caereinion Ferrari is out of a dam by Blackadder Well Hung and was knocked down to Melier Jones for the Gophill flock.
Another from the Bradley-Farmer brothers then made 5200gns, with this being Meonside I Know What You Need. He’s a full ET brother to the 11,000gns Meonside Its My Destiny and was taken by the Claridge family, Bucks.
Three shearlings then collected 5000gns calls, with the first being Whitehart Ill Sort It from Jim and Nicky Hartwright. This is a son of Loosebeare Five Star out of a dam by Brijon Deal Breaker and sold having been used as a lamb. He found a new home with Phil and Helen Weaver for the Empire flock.
The next two were also Whitehart sheep, the first being Whitehart Imperial, another by Five Star and out of a Blackadder Weaver daughter. He sold to Devon to join the Loosebeare flock of the Quick family.
The final 5000gns call came for Whitehart Ivan Attitude, a Harehead Governor son out of a Brijon Deal Breaker daughter. He was bought by Tom Backway of the Trezell flock, Wadebridge.
