It was another successful trip south for Robert Cockburn when his ram lamb, Knap Important Boy topped the Ruthin Club Sale at 4000gns.
Sired by Duncryne Hakuna Matata and out of the famed Knap Daisy Duke, he is a full brother to Robert’s 20,000gns English National sale topper and sold to Gerallt Rowlands, Traws.
Second best at 2400gns was another from the same home, Knap Im your Ram. Again by Hakuna Matata, he’s out of a Haddo Falcon daughter and was bought by Marlsbrough Farms.
Mr Cockburn then reinvested some of his earnings when paying 2100gns for Eglur Icon from Robin Ellis. He’s by Blaencar Gladiator and out of Claybury-bred dam by Mellor Vale Dakota.
Following that at 2000gns was another of the Knap pen, Knap Iconic. He’s a full ET brother to the sale topper and was bought by J W and J A Hardwicke.
Shearling Rams
Topping the shearling ram trade was Geraint Jones’ Cae Coed Hexby. Sired by Maerdy Extra Special, he’s out of a dam by Nochnary Bobby Dazzler and was knocked down to Eurgain Jones.
Close behind at 1950gns was another from the same pen, Cae Coed Hermanson, with this one being another by Extra Special and out of a Bobby Dazzler daughter. He found a new home with G W Jones.
A 1900gns bid followed that for Osian Rhys’ Seiont Huwcyn. This one is by Deveronvale Fastrac and out of a dam by the homebred Seiont Erddyn. Selling with a top 25% index, he was the pick of D G and D O Jones.
Then making 1700gns was LLyfni Harri Parri from I E Williams. This one is a Canllefaes Elite son out of a dam by Canllefaes Bright Spark and was taken by E Williams.
Next in line at 1600gns was Caron Hulk from Gwilym and Nerris Williams and family. This Milnbank Gambler son is out of a dam by Tullylagan Commander and sold to I Williams.
Females
Topping the female trade at 1250gns was a Teiglum Goliath daughter from Robert Cockburn, CKP2408439. She’s out of a dam by Sportsmans Cannon Ball and found a new home with Ryan Davies.
Second top here at 900gns was another Knap gimmer, CKP2408326. This is another by Teiglum Goliath and is out of another Cannon Ball daughter. Buying her was Dewi Evans.
