Myfyr Evans’ ram lamb, Rhaeadr Gale Break, was the top seller at the North West Texel Breeders Clubs show and sale, J36, when making 2600gns.
Sired by Streatlam Fire Cracker and out of a dam by Sportsmans Dare Devil, going back to the 12,000gns Auldhouseburn ewe which has bred well at Rhaeadr. He sold to T Ryan-Davies, Eglysbach, Conwy.

Second best in the males was a trio or 2200gns sales, with the first being for a shearling ram from Robert Laird and family in the shape of Cambwell Floyd. This Caereinion Diamond son is out of a dam by Cambwell Belter. Buying this one were SMB Farms, Dunry, Perth.

David McKerrow and family, Uppermill, then sold the next two at this level, with the first being Uppermill Geronimo. He’s an Ettrick Earthquake son out of a dam by Usk Vale Cheeky Charlie and found a new home in a two-way split with M D Shuttleworth and W M and J E Shuttleworth, both Barbon, Lancs.

The McKerrows’ second at this price was Uppermill Goalberg, a top 10% terminal index son of the 11,000gsn homebred Uppermill Fury out of a Teiglum-bred dam by Craighead Crusader. Buying him was M Jaeban, Isel, Cockermouth.

And then at 1600gns was Gordon Gray’s best of the sale, Ettrick Gstar. Sired by Claybury Dunkirk and out of a dam by Tima Dog Bite, this one has a terminal index in the top 5% and sold to Alistair Jackson, Maulscastle, Dumfries.
The McKerrows were back in the money after that, taking 1500gns for a full brother to the 2200gns Goalberg. This was Uppermill Galaxy and he sold to join J Eckesley, Wheelton, Lancs.
Females
Top spot in the female prices at 1900gns was a Stainton gimmer from Peter Woof. This was WPS2201886, a Craig Douglas Dancer daughter out of a dam by Eden Valley A1 and with a terminal index in the top 10%. She went home with Messrs Teward for the New View flock.

Following her at 1500gns was one from Ryan Bradley. This Bradleys gimmer, BYK2200461, is by Hilltop Escobar and out of a dam by Auldhouseburn Bolt and was knocked down to T Common and Son, Hexham.
Selling at 1400gns was one from Andrew Clark’s Teiglum pen, CFT2200657. She’s by Seaforde Egyptian Warrior and out of a dam by Knock Bantastic and was the pick of A L Mounsey, Aspatria.
And at 1300gns was the best of the sale from James Porter’s Saltcotes flock, PTJ2200097. This Hilltop Escobar daughter is out of a dam by Craig Douglas Dancer and was taken by previous buyers, T Common and Son.
