Auldhouseburn leads Lanark Ladies

Lighting up the trade at the Lanark Ladies sale at 5800gns was the father and son duo, Hugh and Alan Blackwood, Auldhouseburn, with a daughter of the 100,000gns Auldhouseburn Expression out of a Deveronvale dam by Mullan Armani. She sold carrying twins to the 130,000gns Haymount Fan Dabi Dozi and headed home with Angus Howie, for the Milhouse flock.

Following her at 2500gns was champion from the pre-sale show from Alan Clark and family, Garngour. A daughter of Ettrick Earthquake with a Procters Chumba Wumba sired dam, she sold due a single by the 20,000gns Sportsmans Grand Slam, finding a new home with he judge, Jack Austin.

She was closely followed by the third prize gimmer at 2000gns from Jack Arnott, Haymount. This daughter of Rhaeadr Entrpreneur is out of a dam by Usk Vale Crackerjack and sold in-lamb to Strathbogie Gladiator. Buying this one fot eh Deveronvale flock was Graham Morrison.

Another from Garngour then took a 1600gns call, with this one being a Cambwell Duke II daughter out of a dam by Prcoters Chumba Wumba and in-lamb to Sportsmans Grand Slam. She was knocked down to Mark Collins, Logram.

A brace of ewe hoggs then traded at 1500gns, with the first to hit this money being Donald and Sarah MacPherson, Hexel. This one is sired by Ballynahone Franco and out of a homebred dam sired by Procters Chumba Wumba. She was the pick of Northern Irish breeders Messrs Price for their Loadends flock.

The other at this price was one from the Tiki flock from Messrs B, R and D Lowe. Sired by Auldhouseburn Freaky Friday, she out of a Hexel-bred dam by Chumba Wumba and was bought by Stephen Cobbold, Lavenham.

Averages; 44 gimmers £803.97, six ewe hoggs £985.25 (Lawrie and Symington).
