A strong entry of Texel gimmers at Longtown on Monday sold to a top of 3000gns for one from Hazel Laughton, Shawton.
The sale leader from this pen was by the noted Garngour Alabama and out of a dam by Castlecairn Vinney, with this one selling to R D Fleming for the Mossknowe flock, Kirkpatrick Fleming.
Another from the same home then made 2000gns, with this being a Douganhill Young Gun daughter which sold to W N Douglas, Catslackburn, Yarrow.
One from Robert Cockburn’s Knap flock then made 1200gns, with this being a Canllefaes Bright Spark daughter which was bought by J R Gibb, Toftcombs. And following her was one at 950gns from the same pen. This Sportsmans Cannonball daughter found a new home with William Leggate, Silver Ring.
Averages; 67 Texel gimmers and ewe lambs averaged £546 (Longtown Mart).
