Northern Stars twinkle at 4000gns

Knock Travis daughters were the pick of the prices at Saturday’s Northern Stars, with a top call of 4000gns and the top four prices all paid for Travis daughters. Top call of the sale came for one from Richard Henderson’s Ballynahone flock.

Ballynahone’s sale topper was the Knock Travis daughter HBR1300572, a gimmer out of a dam by the great breeding Douganhill McFly and in-lamb to Teiglum Vigilante. She is from the same family as females sold to a top of 11,000gns and was the choice of G Jones, Henllan, Denbigh, for the Miefod flock.

Taking the sale’s next best price at 3700gns was another Travis daughter, this time from Roger Strawbridge’s Tamnamoney consignment. This one, SRY1300770, a Travis daughter out of a McFly mother and sold carrying to Sportsmans Scania. She sold to Southern Ireland with L Brown, Letterkenny, Co Donegal.

Then at 3600gns was Alastair Gault’s best of the sale, another by Travis, GAF1300837 from the Forkins flock. Also out of a McFly daughter she sold in-lamb to Duncryne Uber Cool and is from the same line as gummers to 11,000gns. Buying her was Stuart Barclay, Harestone, Aberdeenshire.

And a 3000gns call then secured the first from the second Forkins run, another Travis daughter out of a McFly sired dam, proving the winning match of these genetics. This was GAF1300888 and sold in-lamb to Teiglum Vigilante. She is a full sister to this year’s £15,000 Balmoral Show champion. She sold to Paul O’Connor, Drumgooland.

Another Forkins gimmer then traded at 2300gns, with this being a daughter of the 50,000gns Haddo Ringleader, stock sire for the Procters flock. This one, GAF1300865, is also out of a McFly daughter. She is in-lamb to Vigilante and heads to Stanocum, with Alan and Lynda Thompson.

The best from Victor Chestnutt, a Braehead the Real McCoy daughter then sold at 2200gns. This was CVC1300593 from the Clougher pen and is out of a dam by Ballybrooney Matador. She sold in-lamb to Kiltarriff Vagabond and was bought by the Wilkinson Brothers.

Then making 2000gns was Andrew Kennedy’s best of the day from the Maineview flock. This was KMR1300276, a Drumgooland Tattoo daughter out of a dam by Mossknowe Pudsey and in lamb to Crailloch Victor. She was bought by Andrew Neilsen, Brackenridge.

Also at this money and bought by Paul O’Connor, Drumgooland, was another Travis daughter from Alastair Gault. This was GAF1300823, a gimmer out of a Mullan Playboy daughter and in-lamb to Teiglum Vigilante.

A final 2000gns call came for a Sportsmans Scania daughter from Forkins, GAF1300826. She’s out of a dam by Mullan Photogenic and sold in-lamb to Vigilante, being bought by John Stewart, Letterkenny.

And then wrapping up the notable prices at 1900gns was a Travis daughter out of a Duncryne Ringmaster daughter, GAF1300806, again from Forkins. She sold in-lamb to Vigilante and was knocked down to Arthur O’Keefe, Mallone, Co Cork.
