Arnold Park’s sale from the Drinkstone flock at Carlisle on Saturday saw a strong demand, with prices peaking at 2800gns.
The day’s best price was paid for a shearling ewe by the 10,000gns Goldies Supreme and out of a Gaynes Rolls Royce daughter. With an index of 390, she sold to Duncan Macniven, Glenfarg, Perth.
Following her at 2000gns was a similar bred gimmer, again by Supreme and out of a Rolls Royce daughter. She found a new home with A and C Watson, Cockermouth, Cumbria.
And a quartet then shared the next best price, with four trading at 1800gns. The first of these was a gimmer by the 5000gns Cambwell Taurus. This one is out of a Lumbylaw Kenya daughter which carries Goldies Godfather breeding in her pedigree as well. With an index of 422, she sold to Charles Scott, Hawick.
Next at that money and joining the previous purchaser was a Drinkstone Top Scot daughter out of a dam by East Middle Oatsie, while the third to trade at 1800gns was a Drinkstone Punt Gun daughter out of a dam by Fimber Obi Wan Kenobi. With an index of 430, she sold to M Dent, Bishop Auckland.
The fourth and final at that price was another Taurus daughter, this time out of an East Middle Oatsie daughter. Boasting an index of 400 she heads to Carnforth, Lancashire, with W A Peill. Then at 1700gns was a Supreme daughter out of a Drinkstone Punt Gun daughter carrying an index of 437. She sold to John Vorn, Bodenham, Herefordshire.
