Friday’s evening’s Twilight Texel sale saw a high of 10,000gns achieves for a gimmer from the Plasucha flock of Robert Bennett, with this Garngour Upperclass daughter, BFE1404286.
This ET bred gimmer is out of a Connachan sharky bred dam and goes back to Mellor Vale Masterpeice on her dam’s side. She sold in-lamb to Kelso Wiseman with an index of 361 and was bought by Robert Jones, Darlington.
Taking the evening’s second best price of 2200gns was one from the Procters flock of Procters Farm, with this being PFD1403553, an ET bred gimmer by Sportsmans Unimog out of a dam by Haddo Ringleader which was champion at Great Yorkshire in 2012 and bred the 5000gns Procters US President. She sold with an index of 265 and in lamb to Knap Wot a Nut and was bought by Messrs Goldie, Newbie Mains, Annan.
Following her at 2000gns was another from the Plasucha entry, BFE1404276, a Sportsmans Trojan II daughter out of a dam by Baltier Rascal and in lamb to Kelso Wiseman. She has an index of 294 and was the pick of R Wilson, Appleby-in-Westmorland.
The same buyer then paid 1600gns for one from Procters, PFD1403486, an Anglezarke Uno daughter out of a dam by Tullagh Neptune which won the all Ireland championship in 2009 and is also granddam to this year’s Royal Welsh champion. This one sold in lamb to Glenside Whiskey Galore and has an index of 312.
Next at the same money was another Procters entry, PFD1403533. This one is an ET bred gimmer by Anglezarke Uno and out of a dam by Tophill Nockout. She was sold in lamb to Tophill Union Jack and with an index of 302 and was the choice of C Asher and H Maxwell-Jones, Brailsford, Ashbourne.
After that came a 1400gns call for one from Angus McColm’s Crailloch flock. This was MAE1401484, a Crailloch UK daughter out of a dam by Livery Predator and in-lamb to Procters Wildcard. She was bought by H McPhee, Dundonald, Kilmarnock.
Then at 1300gns was the best of the evening from the Quick family’s Loosebeare flock, QEL1404414. Sired by Mossknowe United this one is out of a Cennen Magnum dam and sold carrying to Caereinion Top Notch. She had been female champion at Devon County and was bought by S Blythman, Bishopton, Stockton on Tees.
Four then sold at 1200gns, with the first coming from the Bennett family’s Plasucha pen. This was BFE1404291, a Garngour Upperclass daughter out of a dam by Skiddaw Magic and going back to a Pen Parc ewe. She sold in lamb to Fairywater Valiant and was bought by S Coulter, Goulceby, Louth.
Second at this price was one from Giles Pyman’s Thacka flock, PXT1401135. She is y Crosscrake U Star and out of a dam by Livery Predator. Selling with an index of 182 she is in lamb to Kinnelside Warg and sold to D Sharratt, Combs, Chapel Le Firth.
Another from the same home then made the same money, with this being an embryo inside a recipient. The resultant lamb will be by Vanderbilt D Woo W0078 and out of a dam by Abbot PLA07038. This sold to E Dean, Brampton.
And the final 1200gns call came when the Evans family sold a ewe lamb, ESW1500455. This lamb is by the 42,000gns Glenside Valhalla and out of a dam by Mullan Photogenic. She sold with an index of 255 and was bought by Alistair Jackson, Cummertrees, Annan.
