Texels do the double at LiveScot

Texel cross lambs were dominant in the sheep rings at Livescot, with both the championship and reserve championship titles going to Texel sired entries.

Leading the way were the leaders from the heavyweight butchers’ lambs class, a pair of Texel crosses from John Hall and family, Inglewood Edge, Carlisle, which tipped the scales at 97kg. This April-born duo later sold to M J Stark, Milton of Campsie for £340 apiece.

Standing reserve were the Whiteford family, Brampton, Carlisle, with a pair of Texel crosses which weighed in at 100kg. These also came through from the butchers’ lambs section and sold for £270 each to East Mains Farm, Newbigging
