Solway and Tyne in-lambers hit 1300gns

A gimmer from the Hilltop flock of Kenny Pratt took the joint top price in the Solway and Tyne Texel Breeders Club sale at Carlisle, when selling for 1300gns.

This was PKH1601422, an Auldhouseburn Wacko Jacko daughter out of a dam by Knock Prefix and in-lamb to Arkle YingYang. She sold with an in index of 342 and was the choice of John Foster for the Springhill flock, Co Tyrone.

Then at the same money was Cameron Gauld’s best of the sale from the Cairnam flock, GCF1602274, an ET bred daughter of Tullagh Whiskey out of a dam by Baltier Rascal and in-lamb to Procters Yankee. Buying this one were A R Lawson and Son, Hallington, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

And making 1250gns was another from the same pen, GCF1602291, a full ET sister to the last. She sold in-lamb to Yankee too and was bought by Glen Wilson, Hawick.

Following her at 1200gns was the first prize gimmer and champion from the pre-sale show, the first in the ring from Kenny Pratt, PKH1601348, an Auldhouseburn Wacko JAcko daughter out of a dam by Sportsmans Trojan II and in-almb to Arkel YingYang. With an index of 267 she sold to N R Woodmass, Brunstock, Carlisle.

Selling for 1100gns was Ryan Bradley’s first in, BYK1600217 from the Bradleys flock. She is an ET bred daughter of Millar’s The Boy out of a dam by Glenside Razzle Dazzle and in-lamb to Teilo Amlodd. This one sold to Messrs Fletcher and Coates, Weardale, having stood second in the pre-sale show.

Richard Wilson then sold at 1000gns from his Eden Valley pen, with this being WEV1600650, a daughter of the homebred Eden Valley Warrior King out of a Stainton Usain Bolt daughter and in-lamb to Sportsmans Apache. She sold with an index of 306 and was taken by A and B Weston, Buxton, Derbyshire.

At the same money was another from Cameron Gauld, GCF1602276, a Charben Valentine daughter out of a dam by Baltier Thunderbird and in-lamb to Procters Yankee. She was fifth in the pre-sale show and sold to Giles Pyman, Stainton, Penrith.

Averages: 64 shearling gimmers £519.26, nine ewe lambs £360.50, one aged ewe £315, two recipients £446.25 (Harrison and Hetherington).
