Milestonehill Females Champion and Reserve at In-Lamb Sale

The NI Texel Club held their annual In-Lamb Ewe Show and Sale in Hilltown Sale Yard on 27th December 2013, generously sponsored by Joseph Walls Ltd. Proceedings started with the show, judged by Malachy McMeely, Monaghan, who was obviously impressed by the Milestonehill pen of females forward from Murray Annett, Rathfrailand, choosing both his champion and reserve champion from Murray’s pen.

The first placed gimmer and overall champion, a homebred sired by Milestonehill Samuel, later sold for £472.50.


The judge’s second place and reserve champion also came from the Milestonehill pen, another homebred sired by Milestonhill Stoner, later changed hands for £336.

Paddy Kinney, Crumlin, picked up the 3rd place rosette from his Ballydonaghy pen with a gimmer sired by Kilcoan Popeye, which sold to M Cunningham for the top price of the night at £945.

The sale saw steady trade for good females with 93% clearance and an average of £342.
