Builth Wells Ram Sale – 2012

Texels sell to a strong commercial trade at NSA Ram Sale, Builth Wells

Texel breeders were well rewarded by commercial buyers at the NSA Ram Sale, Builth Wells, with both of the main Texel sale rings seeing shearling ram clearance rates above 90% and healthy averages too.

The 914 shearling rams sold across the sale rings levelled the day at £481.34, a shade back on 2011 prices, but well in line with national sale trends and a very strong average for such a large number of shearlings sold.

Topping the shearling trade at 3900gns was the fifth prize shearling ram from the pre-sale show, with this one selling to A G and D Bisset, Dukesfield, Hexham.
