Mullen flock leads Northern Lights Sale

Topping the Northern Lights Sale for the Mullan flock, which was no stranger to success in 2017 with impressive sales earlier in the year; a maternal sister to the 42,000gns Mullan Armani, a Garngour Upperclass daughter in-lamb to Midcome Axel sold for 3800gns to L Linton, Bregagh flock,  her full sisters also realised four figure sums changing hands for 2500gns to N Gallagher, & 2100gns selling to Jogn Neville, Co Wexford, while a Strathbogie daughter from a homebred ewe sold to 2050gns for the Hanthorn family.

Earlier in the sale, the first lot into the ring realised 2000gns, while her full sister, who succeeded her through the ring sold for 1000gns. These two came from the Blackstown pen, Hull House Wing Commander daughters, in lamb to Allenfauld Archimedes they joined the Curley flock and Springhill flocks respectively. A half-sister to these ladies, out of Springwell ewe, in lamb to Milnbank Alabama was snapped up by local breeder R Walmsley for 1500gns who also purchased a full sister for 900gns.

Topping the Tullagh pen of John and Richard Currie was a Milnbank Womaniser daughter in lamb to Midcombe Axel she sold to 2000gns and was knocked down to B Dooher, Dunamanagh. Her paternal half- sisters, sold in-lamb to Deveronvale Areo, were purchased by B Connelly for 1550gns and E Hogg’s Bunnahesco flock for 1300gns, their pen-mate, an Etterick My Jinks daughter, in-lamb to Womaniser was purchased for 1700gns by J Wilson for his Blackstown flock.

Also travelling south to Co Wexford; were a pair from the Springwell flock purchased by A Murphy, she takes home a Holylee Volcano daughter at 1950gns and a Langlands daughter which realised 920gns, both in lamb to Drumderg Aurelius this strong consignment from H & R Gamble sold a second Volcano daughter, in-lamb to Midcombe Axel for 850gns.
